CUSD Independent Study Program
Starting 2022-2023, CUSD families in grades 7-12 have the option to enroll in a voluntary independent study program. This model is for students and families requiring a remote learning option that offers flexibility in scheduling and implementation as students and families work closely together with a certified educator to reach educational goals. The independent study model requires students to take initiative and be mostly self-sufficient as they work independently and with the support of teachers to meet learning objectives of the course curriculum.
Secondary students that successfully complete all designated courses graduate with a high school diploma from one of Claremont Unified School District's high schools: Claremont High School or San Antonio High School.
Enrollment in this program will require a written learning agreement developed and agreed upon by a team that includes the parent, teacher, and administrator. Students may return to in-person instruction at the start of the following semester upon written request.
Example ISP Intermediate School Schedule
Class offerings may be a CUSD Canvas or Edgenuity class depending on the number of students enrolled in ISP. All classes are independent in nature, with the opportunity to attend office hours for additional support. Therefore, students must be able to learn independently.
